Sanctions screening with matches you can explain
verkyc checks persons and companies against official lists and PEP sources with transliteration and shows, for every candidate, which fields matched and how strongly. The decision on a match is recorded with a reason code.
Sources
Official lists
The UN Security Council consolidated list, OFAC lists (SDN and consolidated), the UK sanctions list; the EU list once access to the source is connected.
Your Russian lists
Rosfinmonitoring and interagency commission lists are uploaded by the organisation in the console; the file is validated against an approved format schema.
PEP and adverse information
Politically exposed persons and adverse information through a connected data provider under a separate agreement.
List snapshots
Every screening refers to a list snapshot with its version and date. Lists are refreshed on a schedule and refresh delays are tracked.
How matches are found
- Cyrillic and Latin transliteration under ICAO 9303, BGN/PCGN, GOST 7.79-2000 and Russian passport rules, including variants specific to Kazakh and Uzbek names.
- Date of birth, nationality and identifiers are compared, not only the name; reordered name parts are taken into account.
- Each candidate is shown with the matching fields and the reason; an analyst confirms or dismisses the match with a reason code.
- The result is always bounded by the source and date: "no match established against the lists as of the date", never "the person is not under any sanctions".
Frequently asked questions
How often are the lists updated?
Official lists are fetched on a schedule and a new version is activated after a format check. The report names the list snapshot used for the screening.
Can we add our own list?
Yes, Rosfinmonitoring and interagency commission lists are uploaded by the organisation in the console. Other formats are discussed during onboarding.
What happens after a match?
The candidate goes to the review queue. An analyst confirms or dismisses the match with a reason code, and the decision and its author are stored in the case.
